Narrative of Services:

The vast majority of Dr. Stoyell’s practice is dedicated to serving individuals with an OCD and/or OCD Related Disorder. She offers services to individuals, groups, parents, families and couples. She provides and integrates evidence-based treatments, such as: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Training Description:

Dr. Stoyell has treated individuals with OCD and/or OCD Related Disorders for over 10 years. She has completed her training through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and attended various conferences and workshops on OCD and OCD Related Disorders. Additionally, before opening her own Private Practice, Dr. Stoyell worked at an Intensive Treatment and Residential program working with complex OCD and Related Disorders. She also has presented on multiple OCD Related topics at the IOCDF conference and for various other organizations. She currently also organizes free trainings by renowned OCD therapists which are hosted by the IOCDF.

Diversity Statement:

In conceptualizing her clients, Dr. Stoyell operates from a unique integrative and multicultural perspective. Her experience has strengthened the idea that each individual is unique and there is no “one” solution to all problems. She realizes that it is of the utmost essence for her to design interventions taking into account all of her clients’ distinct diversity variables and background, in order to provide them with the best personalized quality care.

As a Latina immigrant to the USA, Dr. Stoyell understands the importance of diversity and how treatment may look different for individuals from various backgrounds. She attended a doctoral program which emphasized the importance of diversity integration in the treatment of individuals and has experience working with individuals from various backgrounds. Additionally, she provides services in Spanish and Portuguese.
