Narrative of Services:

Between 20-30% of my clinical practice is related to OCD. I have successfully helped adolescent and adult clients recover from OCD. Their struggles included mental obsessions and compulsions as well as burdens from scrupulosity. Recovery outcomes encompass engagement in meaningful life activities. Where appropriate, I provide psycho-education and support to the family members of my clients to help in the treatment process.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Co-occurring disorders that I treat include depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder and personal traits difficulties. Exploration on the meaning of life and spirituality are also important topics in my sessions. In addition, I help the clients to tackle difficulties with personal growth too.

Training Description:

I have been working with clients with OCD for more than 8 years. My skills are kept current through ongoing supervision and literature review.

My experience includes 9 years of service as a clinical psychologist at a Singapore Tertiary Mental Health Hospital where i worked with clients in the out-patient and in-patient facilities.

Evidence based treatment approaches utilised in my sessions are Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness practices. A holistic approach is adopted to address the needs of the body, mind and spirit.

Diversity Statement:

My open and accepting therapeutic stance enables me to work with clients from a range of background. My clients are of all ages from adolescents to senior citizens. I welcome clients from all cultures and religions. Many of my clients are from the LGBT community.

Previously, I worked 28 years in a multi-national company in information technology supporting clients and working with colleagues from ASEAN, Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. I also studied in a New Zealand university for four years. These experiences helped me in relating to people across different cultures.
