Jan Weiner PhD
I specialize in helping people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have over nine years of extensive training in using Exposure and Response Prevention techniques. About 80% of my work addresses anxiety issues, including, but not limited to: OCD, Phobias, Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Eating Disorders. My work also frequently addresses depression, perfectionism, relationship, life transitions, and personality issues but I am experienced treating a wide range of issues beyond the scope of this paragraph. 80% of my practice is dedicated to OCD.
I have a PhD in Psychology/Neuroscience from The Graduate Center of New York and 3 years postdoctoral training in Clinical Psychology/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from Hofstra University. I completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship with expert psychologists at The Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, specializing in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, as well as various co-occurring disorders. I utilize CBT techniques, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and mindfulness-based treatments. I stayed on at the Center as senior staff psychologist/supervisor of all Masters’ Level interns for the next 7 years. Currently, practicing in New York and New Jersey.
