Sherri Wandler LCSW, BCN
With over 25 years of experience in Chicago and Evanston, I am dedicated to offering compassionate, expert care to older adolescents and adults, both in person and online. Much of my practice focuses on OCD, perfectionism and anxiety, and I have extensive experience treating the complex interplay between OCD and ADHD.
In 1996, I earned my MSW from Loyola University of Chicago, one of the top social work schools in the U.S. Since then, I have actively sought education from leading institutions, including:
CTSA at the University of Pennsylvania: Certification in ERP for OCD,
BCIA: Certification in neurofeedback therapy for ADHD,
EMDRIA: EMDR training for PTSD,
Beck Institute: CBT training for anxiety.
My commitment to ongoing education ensures that I remain at the forefront of effective therapeutic techniques to provide the highest quality of care. This is why I continue to participate in group consultation for the treatment of OCD.
Approximately half of my practice involves undergrads, graduate students, faculty and staff from Northwestern and the University of Chicago, which provides me with the opportunity to engage with individuals from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations. My approach to therapy, and to my clients, is rooted in feminist principles, emphasizing egalitarianism, equality, justice, and intersectionality.
Over 25 years ago, my career began within the domestic violence shelter community, which provided a profound opportunity to reflect on my own position in the broader societal context. Since then, I have continued to explore and critically examine my own privilege.
