Narrative of Services:

Dr. Simmons has treated hundreds of individuals with OCD spectrum disorders since 2005. Her practice focuses exclusively on treating BDD, OCD, and body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). She employs evidence based treatments including ERP, CBT, Habit Reversal Training, Inference-Based CBT, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She provides a supportive space for individuals to address co-occurring disorders and life stressors. She provides outpatient evaluations and individual therapy.

Training Description:

Dr. Simmons completed specialized training in CBT and exposure and response prevention (ERP) during her doctoral program at the University of Pennsylvania. She received multiple years of supervision in treating OCD, BDD, and BFRBs from members of the IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board. She served as a CBT study therapist at the former Body Dysmorphic Disorder Program at Rhode Island Hospital. She has received formal training and supervision in Inference Based CBT (I-CBT) from experts in the field. Currently she serves as faculty, teaching and supervising at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.
