Narrative of Services:

Dr. Roman is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Elevate CBT, a New York City-based private practice that offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in-person as well as via telehealth. She and members of her team specialize in working with OCD and anxiety disorders. She currently serves on the leadership team of the IOCDF Special Interest Group on Eating Disorders and OCD (https://iocdf.org/special-interest-groups/eating-disorders/).

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Outside of her work with OCD, Dr. Roman has experience implementing exposure therapy for social anxiety, phobias, and panic disorder. She also works with clients with eating disorders (bulimia, binge eating disorder), Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and body image concerns. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) protocols and specifically, CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders). Dr. Roman has also completed extensive training and practice in DBT, and can incorporate DBT skills and acceptance-based strategies as needed to supplement CBT work.

Training Description:

Dr. Roman has been working with OCD clients for over 10 years, and has had the privilege of receiving high quality training in exposure therapy for OCD and related disorders from experts in the field. She completed training and supervision from the Institute for Behavior Therapy, Rutgers University, The University of Pennsylvania Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, and UCLA.
