Lauren Richman LICSW
I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower my clients to manage their symptoms, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and to feel more comfortable with the inevitable discomfort and uncertainty that humans face daily. I offer a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their struggles. Additionally, I believe in a holistic approach that addresses not just symptoms, but the whole person. I love seeing my clients develop a better understanding of their strengths and learn to live with uncertainty.
As a licensed social worker, I specialize in helping individuals, both adolescents and adults, navigate the challenges of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. I have extensive training in anxiety and OCD treatment through various programs including: McLean Hospital, which is affiliated with Harvard Medical School; CBTeam, and InStride Health. I also have a background in speech-language therapy.
I have experience working with diverse populations, and I have completed various trainings on cultural competency.
