Ellis McCauley MS, LMFT
Psychotherapist
I have been treating OCD/spectrum disorders and severe anxiety for 10+ years. I’m trained in Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion Efficacy Therapy (EET), a new transdiagnostic approach that incorporates ACT, DBT and ERP and is quite effective for OCD. I am beginning to incorporate the new, gentler methods of I-CBT that are proving to be very effective. I have attended multiple OCD conferences and I am always training to learn new and effective skills. I am also trained in the ComB model for working with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, which is a top specialty of mine.

I have quite a bit of training in multicultural/diversity awareness. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where my clients can be themselves and feel welcome to broach difficult subjects. In addition to professional skills, I bring a life-long commitment to understanding the impact of living in a system that is inherently unequal, rendering many to feel alienated, experienced as “other” or otherwise disempowered. I’m also aware that the therapy relationship can feel unequal and that it’s important to have a 2-way collaboration so that instead of you feeling pressure to follow, I can support your needs.
