Peggy Levinson LCSW
With a style that blends warmth, enthusiasm, and care, Peggy brings an array of in-depth treatment skills and over 35 years of experience to her practice of psychotherapy. She has been in practice since 1968 and, since the 1990's, has treated an increasing number of OCD patients. She generally applies a mixture of CBT, ERP, and Talk Therapy (including a Systems Approach) in the treatment of her OCD patients (as well as the OC related disorders such as BDD, Trichotillomania, Panic Disorder, and Skin Picking), but all treatment programs are tailored to the needs of each individual. Peggy provides individual counseling to adults, adolescents, and children, as well as families. Her office is in the Clayton area. Evenings and Saturdays are available.
Peggy has worked to stay informed about the latest research on and treatment of OCD and OCD related disorders (Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Hypochondria, Trichotillomania, Panic Disorder, and Compulsive Skin Picking). For example, she has attended workshops offered by the Milton H. Erikson Foundation, the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (St. Louis), and the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and conferences, such as the UCLA BDD Conferences. Peggy has also participated in multiple seminars and has lectured on BDD to the medical students of Washington University.
