Lisa Levine PsyD
I specialize in the treatment of OCD and related disorders. While OCD is one of the most tormenting mental health conditions, it is also one of the most treatable. Encouragement, empathy, compassion, and expertise are all necessary ingredients for helping people effectively overcome these challenges, and I am grateful to be able to provide this to my clients.
I am a licensed psychologist practicing in Sandy Spring, Maryland. For the past 22 years, I have been privileged to help adolescents and adults recover from often debilitating OCD and BDD. I have a special interest in the treatment of mental compulsions, and use non-engagement responses (NERs), a strategy I developed to help people learn how to “actively” refrain from the tormenting cycle of compulsive rumination. Since first presenting on NERs in 2018 at the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation Annual Conference, NERs have become increasingly recognized, both nationally and internationally, as a highly effective strategy for managing compulsive rumination.
