A majority of my experience as a therapist has been in working with individuals with OCD and/or OC Related Disorders. I have treated many individuals whom have found success in working through their treatment plans, and maintains success after decreasing or discontinuing therapy completely.
I have treated OCD in both adolescents and adults for the past 7 years. I worked in a residential treatment facility for individuals with OCD when I was going through graduate school, and received outpatient supervision after to support my knowledge in CBT, ERP and ACT for OCD at the outpatient level. I have been working at the outpatient level for the past 5 years, with much success and passion working with individuals with a diagnosis of OCD.
As a social worker, I feel that it is very important for me to continue to grow my knowledge of cultural competence. I have engaged in several trainings both throughout my schooling, and once becoming licensed, to ensure that I am aware of my responses as well as those of potential clients. I often speak to the client directly about cultural competency in a way that allows them to help me understand and navigate their culture and how they operate within that culture.
