Narrative of Services:

My private practice is located in the heart of Midtown Sacramento. More than 70% of my clients are being treated for OCD and OC related disorders. While employed at the Anxiety Treatment Center, I worked in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for 3 years so I helped countless individuals during that time. I enjoy working with clients who recently graduated from an IOP for aftercare.

Due to my experience with an IOP, I can provide 2 to 3 individual therapy appointments a week if a client needs a modified version of intensive therapy.

I have a lot of experience treating Depressive disorders. It can help to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address depressive symptoms so an individual then has energy to do the ERP for OCD. I’ve also treated Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and family relational issues such as family estrangement and past abuse.

I’ll assess which disorder is primary and discuss with the client what their preferences are for treatment while sharing my recommendations which may include processing and expressing feelings, identifying thinking errors and creating new narratives.

Facilities accessible by clients of all mobility levels: Yes

Training Description:

I received training while employed at the Anxiety Treatment Center in Sacramento, CA as a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist from a current member of the IOCDF’s Scientific Advisory Board. I’ve treated individuals with Anxiety Disorders since 2007. Prior to this, as an intern, I worked for a non-profit in Sacramento where I helped children, teens and families with a variety of issues including separation anxiety, social anxiety, and school avoidance due to anxiety. I’m also a professional member of the TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors.

Diversity Statement:

I have experience working with individuals who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA population. I make referrals to the local community agencies for additional support for both the client and their family such as Parents, Family, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) and the Lavender Library Archives and Cultural Exchange (LLACE) based in Sacramento, CA. I also treat a variety of people from different religious backgrounds such as Christianity, Judaism, Mormonism, and Jehovah Witnesses. I support equal treatment and rights for all people.

I’ve taken a number of Continuing Education courses on cultural competency. I have experience working with Domestic Violence victims through Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE). I’ve also contributed time to local organizations like Women’s Empowerment which helps homeless women obtain housing and job skills.
