Deborah S. Cole PsyD
I have treated over 50 people with OCD or a Related Disorder. When possible and when the person allows, I use ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) or Inference based CBT. About 50 percent of my practice is for OCD sufferers or those with related disorders, including Hoarding, Tourettes, and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors.
Hoarding: visiting the home at least once if possible (extra fee for travel time), and using CBT and I-CBT. For trichotillomania or skin-picking using a comprehensive approach.
I have been to several IOCDF conferences besides completing the BTTI training. I have been receiving supervision in ICBT after doing the online training in Inference Based CBT. I did a BTTI also for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (such as trichotillomania) through Trichotillomania Learning Center, and one for Hoarding through IOCDF, I have also attended at least one Hoarding Conference through IOCDF, as well as a BTTI for Tics through the Tourette Association.
I have worked in an urban school system which was predominantly Black. I take courses on therapy in multicultural contexts.
I had a doctoral level class on multicultural counseling. Additionally, I take continuing education courses regularly on multicultural psychotherapy. I have volunteered in with Middle Eastern refugees on my vacation, and I have taken a class on working with Middle Eastern refugees through the American Psychological Association.
