Alison Capaldi LMHC
I offer individual psychotherapy in person and via telehealth. The majority of my clients have OCD and/or OCD related disorders. Many have co-occurring disorders, and I combine my knowledge of evidence-based practice with empathy and compassion to create an individual treatment plan tailored towards my client’s goals.
I have particular specialties using research-based practices to work with individuals struggling with Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. In addition to those specialties, I support clients through a wide range of challenges, including trauma and PTSD, depression, stress management, relationship concerns, developing confidence and self-compassion, life transitions, and career and academic stress.
My approach to treatment is rooted in my passion for evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) — all of which use behavioral, emotion-focused, and cognitive methods. I completed my internship in a private practice specializing in providing ERP, and I have advanced training in the use of exposure for anxiety disorders. I have also received training in the use of ACT for OCD. I have worked in private practice for two years, focusing on the treatment of OCD.
