Andrea Bozja LPCC, LPC-MHSP
Over 50% of my practice focuses on treating individuals with OCD, including those with comorbid Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and social anxiety. I have treated a wide range of OCD presentations, utilizing evidence-based therapies such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). My approach integrates comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs, including addressing overlapping anxiety disorders
I began my OCD training in 2013 at Columbia University and the CBT Center in Manhattan. Over the years, I’ve participated in numerous workshops, including the Harvard Hospital OCD Workshop, comprehensive anxiety training through Beck Institute, and the Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional course. Most recently, I completed the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI). My experience has been further enriched through ongoing supervision and direct clinical work with OCD patients.
As an immigrant who learned English as a second language, I have a personal understanding of the challenges individuals face when navigating cultural and language barriers. I worked with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in a capacity outside of therapy, providing support to refugees and immigrants adjusting to life in the U.S. This experience enhanced my cultural competency and awareness of the specific challenges faced by diverse populations. It also reinforced the importance of adapting therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of individuals from various backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and empathetic treatment environment.
