Thomas N. Ballas PhD
My private practice primarily focuses on treating individuals with OCD, perfectionism, anxiety-related disorders, and trauma. While I specialize in these disorders, I also treat mood disorders and other life concerns that may be impacting a client’s life.
I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, and perfectionism. I also have extensive training and experience with trauma, depression, and relationship issues. I utilize an integrative and person-centered approach grounded in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT). I begin treatment with diagnosis and psychoeducation on the patient’s area of concern, followed by skills-based work, and then targeted intervention to enact change.
I have 5 years of specialized training in OCD and anxiety-related disorders completed through my doctoral program and post-doctoral fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center. I also have extensive experience and specialized training in OCD, Pure-O, and Perfectionism obtained at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy in New York.
