Emily Asher MD
I serve patients of all ages, and my practice is focused on youth and their families.
I have experience with a range of theoretical orientations, including psychodynamic, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I incorporate psychopharmacology (medication management) if needed. I have specific expertise is in treating anxiety disorders, selective mutism, depression, ADHD, Tourette’s, and OCD. I have trained extensively in exposure-response prevention for OCD. I have worked at McLean’s OCD unit, the Institute of Living Anxiety Disorders Center, and at UCSF’s Child Psychiatry OCD and Tics clinic. I am the recipient of national clinical awards from various institutions, including the the Beck Institute.
