Miriam E. Adams LICSW, BCD
I treat anxiety disorders and OCD, including perinatal (pregnancy-related and post-partum) anxiety and OCD, both in-office and by video telehealth. I provide supervision to psychology and social work interns, training with Boston Behavioral Medicine in Brookline, MA, and consultation in OCD assessment and treatment to independently licensed clinicians. Approximately 50% of my clients carry a diagnosis of OCD. I am particularly adept at working longterm with clients who have had intensive ERP and ACT treatment in a residential or intensive outpatient program, and then need ongoing or intermittent outpatient therapy to maintain their high level of functioning.
I have been treating anxiety disorders and depression in my private practice since 2005, and OCD using ERP since 2016. I received behavioral medicine training in mind-body approaches for treating stress and anxiety, with Boston Behavioral Medicine, in 2008-09. In 2016 I attended the BTTI trainings in ERP treatment for OCD through the IOCDF. In 2020 I worked with the telemental health company NOCD where I trained in using telehealth approaches in the assessment and treatment of OCD. In 2019 I took a 30 hour training in ACT, and I take 30 hours of CEU training annually in OCD-related approaches.
My private practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming. Approximately 25% of my clients identify as such. I welcome clients of diverse racial, ethnic, national, cultural, religious, and spiritual backgrounds and beliefs.
